Helping you meet the challenges of health care reform.
HCR Pathways is an exclusive program designed by Burnham Benefits to help our clients navigate uncharted territory, now that health care reform is dramatically changing the employee benefits landscape. The program offers a number of ways for employers to get ahead – and stay ahead – of the complex reform issues their organizations will face over the next eight years.
Led by Burnham’s Director of Compliance, Ed Bray, JD, MBA, the HCR Pathways program comprises the following suite of services to help keep your organization on track:
- HCR Pathways E-Newsletters – These informative publications, delivered right to your email inbox, provide you with “need-to-know” HCR compliance updates that are timely, concise and actionable.
- HCR Seminars – These in-person seminars and online webinars help you approach your HCR compliance strategy in a methodical, practical way, while gaining the support you need from executive management and other departments within your organization. They also help you think through the most effective ways to introduce changes to your employee population.
- HCR Central Online – HCR Central is Burnham’s online portal that provides you convenient access to HCR publications, relevant websites, tools and more. While many of the articles are password protected, it’s free to register and get fast access to these critical resources.
- HCR Pathways Consulting – Ed Bray and Burnham’s HCR Task Force have designed a custom consulting program that takes into account all the particulars of your organization’s benefit strategy, HR goals, budget and employee population. This two-step consulting process is described here:
Step 1 - Perform a Health Care Reform Readiness Analysis for your Organization (Immediate)
- Review your existing benefit programs and determine which will be affected by the health care reform provisions now and into the future
- Determine whether any plans will be grandfathered and review the pros and cons of remaining in that status
Step 2 – Provide Health Care Reform Operational Support and Guidance (Over Next 8 Years)
Using the results of the health care reform readiness analysis, your Burnham Benefits Consultant will:
- Provide implementation support for the health care reform provisions affecting your organization now and into the future;
- Assist with health care reform communications to senior management, functional areas (e.g., Payroll, HRIS, Finance, Accounting, Legal, etc.), and employees;
- Determine the financial impact of health care reform to your organization, including performing detailed financial modeling;
- Revise current benefit strategies and develop new strategies based on the impact of health care reform to your organization
- Ensure continuous organizational compliance with the ever-changing health care reform legislation
