Welcome, Lauren Flanagan
As Burnham continues to expand our national footprint in partnership with BRP, we are delighted to announce the addition of Lauren Grey Flanagan, MPA, as our newest Consultant. A leader at the forefront of benefits strategy, Lauren is a testament that when we prioritize data-driven solutions and empower underserved voices, solutions arise with results that matter more.
Lauren’s Experience
Lauren brings over a decade of industry experience to Burnham, her career encompassing roles within global communications for fortune 500 companies and employee benefits, where she most recently consulted as USI Indiana’s top Producer. She holds a certificate in Artificial Intelligence Strategy from UC Berkeley School of Information and an America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) certificate.
Lauren specializes in identifying data patterns to illustrate cost-containment strategies and helps clients realize new outcomes on their benefits spend. In her new role, she will work with Burnham to contextualize data into actionable insights by and for all stakeholders – applying data-centric technologies to strategies that encourage authentic human connectedness. Her unique ability to connect this bottom-line data to business expansion strategies earned her national recognition as an influential leader whose distinction infuses the analytical with the creative.
“You have to wrap the story around the data – whether it’s in terms of a client’s plan design or helping to influence better behavior, it all comes back to the discovery of the data, and then making that discovery have a meaningful impact,” Lauren says.
Her latest focus surrounding succession planning of employees transitioning toward retirement reflects this distinction. In collaboration with Burnham’s Medicare division, Lauren will help develop a deeper understanding of generational diversity in the workforce, supporting each population segment on behalf of clients with Medicare-eligible employees.
An advocate and educator, Lauren authored her first book in 2019, 1001 Watts, a guide to help women navigate emerging paths in the new technological era, with a percentage of profits donated to fund women’s education in STEM. Today, she unites this passion with Burnham’s commitment to social accountability as a certified B-Corp.

Lauren’s new role
After transitioning to Burnham Lauren partnered with Regional President Kristen Allison to support WISEplace. An Orange County-based nonprofit leading efforts to end homelessness for unaccompanied women, preparing over 8,400 women since its’ inception in 1924 for long-term success by providing a path to personal self-reliance through case management, employment assistance, housing assistance, and more. Kristen identifies Lauren’s work within the community as a shining example of what makes the “Burnham Difference.”
“Lauren has invested in so many aspects of her own career from her specialization in AHIP in the Midwest with a variety of self-funded groups to her national account experience—she’s constantly developing her skillset—but more importantly, she’s invested in those around her and the communities she serves,” says Kristen. “Her desire to learn from her colleagues and her devotion to a more equitable community truly reflects our shared commitment to a more holistic and unified firm. We are inspired and excited to see where she continues to lead us.”
